• If Eddie Howe could have hand picked a game to begin Bournemouth's first ever top-flight campaign it may well have been a home tie against a Villa side that will need time to settle following a summer of upheaval.
• The Cherries will be roared on by the home crowd and there will be a buoyant atmosphere at Dean Court, though the hosts, like Villa, are unlikely to be at full-strength.
